John Kawasoe attended Boise State University on a golf scholarship and was a four year letterman, and All Big Sky Conference player his sophomore through senior year. He graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Communication. John turned his golf career professional in 1991. He played on various mini tours across the country for two years before he became a dedicated Club Professional. He started his Club Pro journey at Angel Park Golf Club, then moved to Springhill Country Club before he became the Director of Golf at Mallard Creek in Lebanon in 1999. Then, he served as the Head Golf Professional at Astoria Golf & Country Club where he has been for the past twenty years. Throughout his golfing career, he has been awarded the OPGA Teacher of the Year (2010), and the OPGA Golf Professional of the year (2018). He joined the Pumpkin Ridge family in 2022 and has been the perfect addition to our team.

My name is Sebastain Stewart and I am your Head Golf Professional at Ghost Creek - Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. I was born & raised in Las Vegas Nevada and before I started my path to being a golf professional, I was racing amateur motocross around the west coast. I have always had a love for the game as a kid but did not start my journey in the golf industry until I was at Desert Pines Golf Club in Las Vegas back in 2010. Since 2017, I have been in the Pacific Northwest continuing to learn every aspect of the game and business at Pumpkin Ridge. While working my way through the ranks here at the club, I was promoted to Lead Assistant Golf Professional in 2019 and then I became the Head Golf Professional at Ghost Creek in April 2022. I am an aspiring PGA Professional that has learned a variety of lessons through multiple venues to understand how to teach the game to all ages and skill levels as well as help run a golf facility to meet all golfers' expectations. Hunter Wescott
Director of Player Development
Hunter Wescott joined Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in April 2025 as Director of Player Development. Along with private lessons and helping out with a variety of golf programming, Hunter leads Operation36 and PGA Jr. League Programming. Through Op36 and PGA Jr. League Hunter focuses on Juniors looking to learn the game and Adults looking to improve their game. Hunter began playing golf at age 12, and started playing Amateur tournaments with OGA in 2011. His High School career at Westview earned him a scholarship to play collegiate golf at Dominican College in New York. There he became an all-conference golfer and led his team to qualify for its first National Championship appearance in 2017. After graduation, Hunter moved back to Oregon to continue his Amateur career and become and PGA Associate. In 2024 Hunter was named OPGA's Player of the Year. Hunter's expertise is a great addition to our Pumpkin Ridge community and he is eager to meet all members!
